How to place a buy Order?

  • To place a buy order, select the desired scrip and press “F1” or “+” or click on the “BUY” tab in the Trade Menu on Top.
  • Select the Exchange through which you wish to transact i.e.: NSE or BSE.
  • Select the stock symbol of the scrip you wish to purchase, if it is other than the default.
  • Confirm the quantity you wish to purchase and the price you wish to purchase it at. (By default price shown is the Last Traded price).
  • In case you wish to take delivery you will have to select the check box marked “FOR DELIVERY”.
  • Press Enter and then Control for Confirmation or click Buy tab twice in the Buy Order Form.

How to place a sell order?

  • To place a sell order, select the desired scrip and press “F2” or “-“or click on the “SELL” icon on the screen.
  • Select the Exchange through which you wish to transact i.e.: NSE or BSE.
  • Select the stock symbol of the scrip you wish to sell.
  • Confirm the quantity you wish to sell and the price you wish to sell it at. (By default price shown wil be the Last Traded price).
  • In case you wish to give delivery you will have to select the check box marked “FOR DELIVERY”.
  • Press Enter and then Control for Confirmation or click Sell tab twice in the Sell Order Form.

Is it possible that an order is accepted by the exchange but a trade does not take place against it? Is an order always executed for the full quantity? Is it always executed at one price?

Yes, it is possible that the Exchange accepts an order but a trade does not take place against it. This could be either because the limit price specified is not reached or there are no buyers / sellers for the same.

Further, an order need be executed for the full quantity. The order will be executed only to the extent of the available buyers / sellers willing to buy/sell for that quantity and price. The order need be executed at one price only.

Can I modify/cancel orders?

Yes you can cancel or modify your order at any point of time till your order is not executed. To do so:

  • Click on Order Book
  • Select the order you want to modify/cancel
  • Select the stock symbol of the scrip you wish to sell
  • Right click and choose “Modify” or “Cancel”
  • Click on cancel tab twice to cancel your order. To modify, edit the quantity or price and click on the modify tab twice

Where can I view the list of pending Orders?

he list of all pending orders can be viewed in the Order Book. Once you click on order book, you can choose Pending Orders under the ‘Order Status’ drop down menu and click ‘go’. It will henceforth display all the pending orders.

You can also filter the orders you wish to view as follows (through the drop down arrow provided)

  • You can view orders on NSE, BSE, F& or All.
  • You can view orders for Intraday or Delivery or All.
  • You can view Buy or Sell or All orders.

Where can I view the entire details of the orders placed by me?

You can view all the activities that have been performed on any order. These activities include order modification/cancellation, partial/full trade, and trade modification/cancellation.You can select “Order Book” from the Reports menu or press F3 for the same. Under Order Status choose ALL to view details of all the order.

You can also view your intraday net position report under Reports menu to view your net buying/selling for the day.
